Visa and Mastercard have reached a combined $167.5 million settlement over allegations that they unlawfully restricted how independent ATM operators set surcharge fees. If you paid unreimbursed ATM access fees at a non-bank ATM between 2007 and 2026, you may be entitled to a share of the fund. Settlement Breakdown: Visa: $88.775 million Mastercard: $78.725 million Total pool: $167.5 million Who Qualifies: You used an independent (non-bank) ATM between October 24, 2007 and August 14, 2026 You were charged an access fee for a cash withdrawal Your bank did not fully reimburse that fee Residents of California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Michigan may also qualify under separate state classes Payout Details: There is no fixed payment amount. Each claimant receives a proportional share of the net settlement fund based on the number of qualifying ATM transactions submitted.
