Walmart Black Friday 2026: Dates, Walmart+ Early Access, and How to Actually Get the Deals
In short
Walmart's 2026 Black Friday runs as three events: early deals Nov 12–15, Black Friday Deals Nov 23–29 and Cyber Monday Nov 30–Dec 2. How the 24-hour Walmart+ head start works, why Walmart won't refund a later price drop (and the legal workaround), the Jan 31 holiday return deadline, and how to stack Walmart Cash, OnePay and Amex Offers.
Our Black Friday 2026 overview puts Walmart on the calendar next to everyone else. This page covers Walmart alone: when each wave opens to the minute, what the Walmart+ head start actually gets you, the price-match and return rules that decide whether buying early is safe, and how to stack the extras that only work at Walmart.
Walmart announced its holiday schedule on October 26: three events, 14 days in total, running from November 12 to December 2. Last year's events added up to 10 days.
The 2026 schedule
| Event | Online | Walmart+ head start | In stores |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Black Friday Deals | Nov 12–15, from 12:01 a.m. ET | Select hot deals reserved for members from 12:01 a.m. ET Nov 12; what's left opens to everyone at 12:01 a.m. ET Nov 13 | From 6 a.m. local time, Nov 12 |
| Black Friday Deals | Nov 23–29, from 12:01 a.m. ET | Members first from 12:01 a.m. ET Nov 23; everyone from 12:01 a.m. ET Nov 24 | From 6 a.m. local time, Nov 27 |
| Cyber Monday | Nov 30–Dec 2, from 12:01 a.m. ET | None announced | Online only |
| Thanksgiving, Nov 26 | Website and app open | — | Stores closed (and again on Christmas Day) |
Two things in that table matter more than they look. First, the Walmart+ head start is 24 hours, not the few hours Walmart gave members in some earlier years, and it applies to "select online-only" deals while supplies last, not to the whole sale. Second, the main Black Friday event starts online four days before it reaches stores. From Monday the 23rd to Thanksgiving, the best Walmart prices are on the app, not on the shelf.
What's actually in the sale (so far)
Walmart hasn't published an item-by-item ad for 2026, and its deals are released online in "drops" rather than as one printed circular. What the company has said: thousands of gifts under $20, a Top Toys list with 25 toys under $25, and deals across toys, fashion, beauty and home. Lists of specific TVs, AirPods or vacuums you'll see before November 12 are either last year's or guesses. We'll add the confirmed headline deals to the live list below as they drop.
How to actually get the doorbuster
The deals that sell out are the hot drops at 12:01 a.m. ET. That's 9:01 p.m. the night before on the West Coast.
- Be signed in before midnight, with your address and payment method already saved. If you're a Walmart+ member, check that the membership shows as active in the app. A lapsed card on file is the most common way to miss the 24-hour window.
- Adding to cart doesn't reserve anything. Stock is only yours once the order is placed. If an item lets you check out, check out. You can return it later (see below), but you can't get it back once it's gone.
- "Out of stock" isn't always final. Unpaid carts time out and orders get cancelled, so popular items sometimes come back in waves through the first morning. Refresh the product page itself, not the search results.
- Pick the fulfillment that's in stock. Shipping, pickup and delivery draw on different inventory. If shipping says out of stock, try pickup at a few nearby stores. Walmart+ members get Express Pickup with no fee, and Walmart says it is expanding Express Pickup nationwide in the coming weeks.
- Don't queue at a store at 6 a.m. on the 23rd. In-store Black Friday pricing doesn't start until 6 a.m. on Friday the 27th. Earlier that week, the deals are online.
Is Walmart+ worth it just for this?
The regular price is $98 a year or $12.95 a month. Some members have been offered a $49 annual renewal this fall when they start to cancel (our live deal card below tracks it), and Walmart has a new $120-a-year bundle with Sam's Club Plus. If you hold the Amex Platinum, check whether you already have it free: the card gives a monthly statement credit that covers the base monthly plan. For everyone else, the math is simple. A month of membership costs $12.95. If one 24-hour hot deal on your list saves more than that, join for the month that covers Nov 12 and Nov 23, and set a reminder to cancel.
Price drops: Walmart won't refund the difference
This is the rule to know before you buy anything early at Walmart. Under its written policy:
- In stores, Walmart matches the price of the identical item on Walmart.com if it's in stock online when you ask at checkout. It doesn't match competitors' prices, Marketplace sellers, Rollbacks or clearance, or "Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals". So during the event, the in-store match is little use.
- On Walmart.com, there's no price matching at all, and the policy says specifically that it won't adjust for "items previously purchased on Walmart.com that have since decreased in price".
That's the opposite of Target's holiday price match. The workaround is legal and simple: if the price drops while your return window is open, buy it again at the lower price and return the first one. Before you do, check that the item is sold and shipped by Walmart (Marketplace returns follow the seller's terms), keep the box, and use the "return by" date shown in your purchase history. The full playbook, including when a store will adjust instead, is in our price adjustment guide.
Returns: the January 31 deadline
| What you bought | Normal window | If bought Oct 1–Dec 31 |
|---|---|---|
| Most items | 90 days | Returnable until Jan 31, 2027 |
| Most consumer electronics | 30 days | Jan 31 for most (check your purchase history) |
| Most wireless phones | 14 days | Excluded from the extension |
| Major appliances | 2 days after delivery for a full refund (30 days if still factory-sealed) | Excluded |
| Dyson, protection plans, some seasonal and luxury goods | Varies | Excluded |
| Marketplace (third-party) items | Usually 30 days | Depends on the seller |
Walmart's purchase history shows the latest return date for each item, and that date is the one that counts. If a return goes wrong or a refund doesn't arrive, our returns and chargebacks guide covers the escalation steps.
Stacking at Walmart
Store-wide promo codes are rare during the event, so the extra savings come from layers around the sale price:
- Walmart Cash. Clip the offer in the app (on the product page or in your account) before you buy. Unclipped offers don't apply even on the exact item. The cash lands in your Walmart account and comes off a later order, online or in store through the app. The small "net free" deals below work this way.
- The OnePay CashRewards card, Walmart's own credit card, issued by Synchrony. Its terms (effective August 20, 2026) pay 5% at Walmart with a linked Walmart+ membership, 3% without, and 1.5% elsewhere. One catch: payments through a digital wallet that doesn't pass on the merchant code earn only 1.5%.
- Amex Offers. Walmart offers show up in some Amex accounts from time to time. One is live now (below). Add it to your card before you check out.
- Cashback portals. Walmart is one of the weaker stores for portals. Rates are usually low or limited to certain categories, and some portals don't list Walmart at all. Check on the day, and don't let a portal redirect cost you a sold-out doorbuster. Our cashback portal guide explains how tracking works.
- Gift cards. Walmart gift cards rarely sell below face value. The workaround people use is to buy them at a grocery store with a card that earns a supermarket bonus, since many cards exclude Walmart itself from that category. Some issuers exclude gift-card purchases, so read your card's terms first. More in the discounted gift card playbook.
Worth buying at Walmart, and what to skip
Good bets at Walmart:
- Toys and gifts under $25. This is where Walmart's announced deals are focused.
- Name-brand TVs, small kitchen appliances and floor care from brands you know, especially at one of the hot drops.
- Household and grocery staples with Walmart Cash offers. They're low in value but reliable, and in stock all season.
- Anything you'll pick up anyway. Free Express Pickup for members takes shipping and timing out of the equation.
Be careful with:
- Doorbuster TVs with model numbers you can't find anywhere else. Some are built to hit a price, with fewer HDMI 2.1 ports, a slower panel or simpler local dimming. Compare the full spec sheet with the regular model, not just screen size and brand.
- Marketplace listings dressed as deals. Check "Sold and shipped by". Third-party items have different returns and aren't eligible for Walmart's price match.
- Phones and major appliances if you might change your mind. They're excluded from the holiday return extension.
- "Was" prices. Compare with the price before the event, not the struck-through number. The prep guide shows how to log your prices in fifteen minutes.

Walmart.com Amex Offer: Get $10 Back When You Spend $50Get $10 Back on $50+ SpendWalmartView deal
The game plan
- This weekend: write your list and record today's Walmart prices. Decide whether a month of Walmart+ pays for itself, and check whether your Amex Platinum already covers it.
- Evening of Nov 11: sign in, check your address and payment method, and add the Amex Offer to your card. Clip any Walmart Cash offers you plan to use.
- 12:01 a.m. ET, Nov 12 and Nov 23: buy the hot drops as soon as they open, and check out rather than leaving items in the cart.
- Nov 23–26: shop online. Stores don't switch to Black Friday prices until 6 a.m. on Nov 27.
- Through Dec 2: keep checking prices on what you bought. If one drops, rebuy and return the first, by Jan 31 for most items.
